Taiwan’s CRC imports fall significantly in May m-o-m, first imports from Brazil this year

A A A
According to customs statistics, Taiwan’s cold-rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled around 22,600 tons in May, falling by 55.6% compared to the preceding month, due to a significant drop in imports from China.

In May, China remained the major import source, supplying 18,500 tons of CRC to Taiwan, plummeting by nearly 50% month on month. South Korea and Japan ranked second and third with around 1,900 tons and 1,500 tons, dropping by roughly 70% from the previous month, respectively.

Brazil exported CRC to Taiwan for the first time this year, with merely 768 tons. The price was low, so it was expected to be tender or secondary material.
